THE TASK
 

CONTEXT

This unit will introduce you to the basic language of art, allow you to experiment using them and practice analysing and evaluating works of art using your newly learnt terminology.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS

TASK ONE: The first half of this term will be dedicated to learning about and practising using the Elements and Principles of Design. Your teacher has given you a booklet to revise the language of art and create one PowerPoint presentation about a selected artwork.

TASK TWO: In the second half, you will create an artwork using mixed media to portray one element of art. You are also to write a reflection about your art piece and how you have incorporated the elements and principles of design to express message.

In your artwork, describe HOW you have used your chosen element and principle and why it is important to the message behind your artwork Eg. In my artwork I have used colour such as light blue for the sky and dark yellow and brown for the land to depict that it is a dry and barren land. I have also used space to create depth in my picture, showing that the field is many acres long.
