As you review the nine “key indicators” (listed in column 1) and think about the “descriptors” (listed in column 2) for each of the key indicators, you will see that there are a number of critical behaviors needing to be implemented to ensure the engagement of stakeholders in advancing the implementation of the NJSLS and PARCC.

You will need to think about each of these identified target categories and determine what are policies, programs, procedures, and/or practices currently are in place to address the particular descriptors.
1. In order to assess each indicator, you will need to provide a minimum of two “evidence of current practice” statements clearly describing what presently exists in your school and/or district for each descriptor area/indicator.
2. For the “Recommendations” category, you are to put yourself in the position/mindset of an educational leader/administrator/supervisor and make solid, practical recommendations for the advancement of each indicator. Your recommendations should be based on your institutional history, your knowledge of the district/school, and your inventiveness to bring about change. You need to list a minimum of two recommendations for each descriptor.

3. For the “Challenges” category, you may choose to interview key stakeholders to get an accurate assessment of real challenges facing your district and/or school. Depending on your present role, you may be aware of the challenges, obstacles, mind-sets, etc. which prevent your school and/or district from effectively and efficiently advancing the implementation of the NJSLS and PARCC. (WHAT ARE CHALLENGES FACED IN JERSEY CITY SCHOOL DISTRICTS)
