Your final project will consist of a series of images, and an accompanying artist statement, created according to parameters set by you and developed in dialogue with me. You should propose a project that resonates with your own perspective, interests and priorities, as they relate to course material. Central to the context of contemporary art, and the ideas discussed in class, is the notion that artistic reality depends on creative interpretation—beginning with the facts of the world, but quickly departing into an imaginative engagement with other possible ways of looking and representing. With this in mind, write an artist statement where you express the ideas and goals you have for your project. Please avoid lengthy desсrіptions of process in favor of conceptual and creative engagement with the idea of the mysterious as an artistic strategy. Your statement should be submitted through Canvas. (here are the photos that I took for my final project. Please write artist statement about them.) My main idea of this project: For my final project, my main theme is “Gummy Life”. Many people like gummy candies and they are made into many different interesting shapes (bears, eggs, worms, coke, etc.) What would happen if we put those fake eggs or fake coke on our dining table? Or in our life? I think it would be interesting to see it weird but fun. For this project, I would use Photoshop to cut out the gummies and magnify them, (since they are usually too small) then put them on delicious plates or other backgrounds. For example, I have a gummy dolphin and I would like to create an interesting scene for it.
