Title – The correct binomial nomenclature species name followed by a comma and then the common name. Appearance – Give a complete desсrіption of what the organism looks like. Importance – Why is it important to know about the species you have chosen? – Is it a protected, endangered species, or abundant? – What makes it unique? Distribution and Habitat – Describe where on Earth the organism lives. – Identify the climate and habitat in which the organism prefers. Phylogenetic tree – Include the most specific phylogenetic tree for the organism supported by a scientific source. – If no such tree can be found, create a tree using the phylogenetic trees found in the lecture text and add the organism in the correct evolutionary location. – The title of the tree should be Figure 1. (Insert Organism) Phylogenetic Tree and located UNDER the tree. Nutrition – Discuss how the organism feeds (parasite/autotroph/heterotroph). – Identify any unique metabolic processes or any special dietary needs the organism may have. Reproduction – Discuss how the organism reproduces (sexually/asexually/both). Ecological and Economic Importance – What is its role in the ecosystem? – Is this species beneficial in terms of what we can obtain from it?
