First part needs to be done in excel and draw free body diagram(FBD). Maybe couple of sentences describe the big picture.
second part needs to be have FBD for retracted length and the extended. Also, the calculations (brief paragraph about what is going on).
Third part needs calculations and writing (brief paragraph about what is going on).
Note:
The writing in this assignment will not be more than one page for the whole report.
(it is okay to have the calculations and the FBDs by handwritten)
