(How-to booklet) and a (Reader Matrix )

Assignment part one)
You have been hired by the Clayton County Welcome and Safety Authority* (CCWSA) to create one page of a How-to booklet for newly arrived refugees in Clayton County. The instructions you compose will teach a refugee from Syria how to use a tool that was unavailable in his or her homeland. Think of a tool or product that the person might need to use daily, for example an electric toothbrush or an electric razor, a city bus or a smart phone, a waffle maker or a crockpot. Since the tool you select will be commonly used here in America, first research a set of instructions that are already available for the product (a simple web search should deliver instructions of the tool). Once you evaluate the instructions, improve those instructions by simplifying them or adding steps/organization/images that are specific to your reader’s perspective (you will need to complete a reader matrix to determine this perspective). Your instructions must include an image of the tool. The image can be hand-drawn or computer generated using MS Word, Publisher, or Paint. If the image is hand-drawn, it must be drawn in such a way that it is reproducible or able to be submitted to me in electronic format. The image or drawing must include labels for each part of the tool or product so that the user will easily identify the parts you refer to in the instructions. The instructions must be detailed and indicate directional steps for beginning and ending use of the product. Below is an example of the format.
