(Take money) West side, Bad Boy killers.” Although this may seem harsh and offensive it came from one the most influential gansta rappers of the 1990’s era. Gansta Rap is defined as “a style of hip-hop that reflects the violent lifestyles of inner-city youth” and was introduced by Schoolly D during 1980s in New York. Gansta Rap started as a way for people to express the realities of their everyday life which included guns, violence, drugs, and gang. Gansta Rap influenced society and culture by giving a way for people to express their self, discussing issues, and the world around them.
