Directions
–Read the following chapters in Essentials of Children’s Literature, 9th edition.
–Chapter 1: “Learning about Story and Literature”
–Chapter 2: “Learning about Children and Literature”
–After reading both chapters, write an essay describing your own reading interests as a child. This is an expressive essay where you explain what you liked and/or didn’t like based on your new adult perspective and the material you read in Chapters 1 and 2 of Essentials of Children’s Literature, 9th edition.
Rubric
Your essay must:
–show evidence of having read Chapters 1 and 2 of Essentials of Children’s Literature, 9th edition.
–utilize MLA manuscript format.
–be a minimum of 800 words (your draft must include word count; you can type word count under your heading or title). There is no maximum word count.
–have a title.
–utilize first person point of view/expressive “I.”
–not use second person point of view “you.”
–utilize college level mechanics.
–have no misspelling
