For this and the remaining Phase II assignments, you will continue to use the software accompanying the Cases in Compensation book (You can access the software here: Phase.II_.11.1e.jan_.1.2013.mdb). Read Analyze the Data (pgs. 52-53). First, adjust the survey data to account for its age. You are to adjust the age of the data by 3.2% to reflect 2018 salary increase forecasts (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.by the Society for Human Resource Management (Please note: In my prior instructions I originally stated 3% but that was a typo. It should be 3.2% per SHRM). Second, address the following key questions: (1) What forms of pay should be use to compare FastCat with the external market (i.e., base, total cash, or total compensation)?; and (2) Which central tendency metric should FastCat use in conducting statistical analysis (i.e., mean, 25th percentile, 50th percentile, 75th percentile, or weighted mean – note: weighted mean is only available for total compensation data)? Third, read Be Sure You Understand Your Results (pgs. 53-54). Run your regression analyses (you may need to run multiple analyses to better understand the market). Once you have settled on a regression model, include as an exhibit the Regression Graph (see pg. 53 for an example). Lastly, read Evaluate the “Fit” Between FastCat and the Market (pgs. 54 -55). Using the R2 statistic, evaluate the appropriateness of this “Fit” for FastCat. As always, your rational and justification for each decision/recommendation must be clear and strong. Your responses should be typewritten (double-spaced, 1 inch margins, minimum/maximum font size of 12.
