hello cindy the peer reviews have to be completed for the last order and they have not been completed so 1. Behavior change can refer to any transformation or modification of human behavior. Some of the changes can be motivated by health concerns, while others are not. The theory of Planned Behavior is one of the theories for behavioral change; this theory suggests that behavior is dependent on one’s intention to perform the behavior. Example getting a mammogram can be an Intentional behavior because the person performing this behavior is also aware of the health benefits. The change can also be determined by the individual’s attitude, beliefs and values about the outcome of the behavior, and subjective norms, beliefs about what other people think the person should do or general social pressure. The feeling and satisfaction the person performing the behavior is also very important. When one is undergoing a behavioral change, there are barriers or something that would prevent an individual from carrying out a recommended response. It is important to understand the variables that are essential when effecting a change in behavior and to maximize on these variables when attempting to evoke a behavior change. it is important to stress the benefits of performing the behavior, the social appropriateness of performing the behavior, and positive affect for the behavior. There are various strategies for behavior change; It is important to raise awareness that the threat exists, Measure existing attitudes before attempting to change them and focusing on severity and susceptibility to these threats. Be aware of physical or cultural barriers that might exist, it is important to try to remove the barriers. Provide evidence of examples that the recommended response will avert the threat. Raise individuals’ confidence that they can perform response and help ensure they can avert the threat. Provide communication that might trigger individuals to make decisions. Understand with whom individuals are likely to comply. Ensure individuals do not feel they have been manipulated or are unable to avert the threat. Fear can powerfully influence behavior and, if it is channeled in the appropriate way, can motivate people to seek information, but it can also cause people to deny they are at risk. Initial assessment will help to identify the potential and actual barriers to change, allowing you to pinpoint the practical actions needed to implement the change.. You may want to consider talking to a group of key individuals who has an influence on the individual. Observation is an effective way of assessing peoples’ behavior in their natural environment. A good questionnaire can help you get a clear picture of current practice, Careful thought needs to be given to the design of the questions, as the quality of the answers relies heavily on the quality of the questions. Brainstorming is a way of developing creative solutions to problems. It can be done informally in small groups or as part of a focus group the session starts with an outline of the problem and then participants are encouraged to come up with as many ideas as possible to solve it. One of the great things about brainstorming is that participants can bounce ideas off each other and develop and refine them further. If we now take all of the information gathered about what needs to change, who is affected and the likely barriers, and combine it with our understanding of what works to make change happen in different situations, we can map the barriers to specific methods. Remember, there is no one method to overcome all the different barriers; different approaches will be effective for different people and different situations. These methods can be used on their own or together; combining methods may have a bigger impact on change. http://gcumedia.com/digital-resources/jones-and-bartlett/2014/public-health-101_healthy-people-healthy-populations-custom_ebook_2e.php www.nsiteresources.worldbank.org/…/BehaviorChangeweb.pdcbi.nlm.nih.gov Behavior Works .www.behaviourworksaustralia.org/wp…/2012/…/BWA 2. there are 3 total for the first discussion post and another post has three as well i will need you to respond immediately
