Sustainable Development Reflection Paper

Follow the instructions below to calculate your ecological footprint and then write a paper of approximately 2000 words (roughly 6 pages double spaced) that answers the following questions:

How big is your ecological footprint? Were you surprised by this?
What behaviors seem to contribute most to your ecological footprint? What do you think you would need to do to lower your ecological footprint? How hard do you think this would be, and how likely are you to do it?
What does this suggest about the challenges of achieving sustainable development?
Given this, do you believe that economic growth (i.e., growth in consumption) and ecosystem functioning can both be sustained indefinitely? In making your argument, evaluate the competing arguments made by various authors we’ve read in class so far, explain which you find most persuasive, and why.
