Instructions:
Write a double-spaced, 12 font, 7-10 page research paper on a current (within the last two years) HR topic that a company or organization is facing and how, using common HR practices, would you rectify the issue. Utilize APA manuscript style including format, appropriate reference citations in text, and in reference list: (Typed, double spaced, 1″ margins, appropriate pagination, Title Page, Table of Contents, and APA level headings). The minimum seven-page requirement is for the body of your paper and does not include ancillary pages such as title page, works cited, charts or pictures. In other words, at least seven pages must be of written content not including charts graphs, cover page, table of contents page or reference page. Any paper not submitted in current APA style will not be accepted. Use scholarly sources (not Wikipedia). Be sure to follow the grading rubric to ensure maximum points for your work. Upon completion of your paper, please submit it through Canvas. Please note that assignments submitted in ANY other form or fashion will NOT be graded. An originality scan will be completed by “Turnitin” software.
NOTE: No papers will be accepted after the course commences. Time management is a learned skill and an objective in this course.
What to include:
Title Page
Overview of your topic, including the history or background
Describe the law pertaining to the issue. For example, if your topic is disability discrimination you will want to include Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the American’s with Disabilities Act (if you choose a legal issue)
Provide several examples of cases where employers were sued for discrimination.
Describe what type of policies and procedures the employers should have to avoid litigation
Discuss whether or not the law is preventing lawsuits and discrimination and if not, what changes do you see may be needed
