Topic:

In “Is Forgiving Student Loan Debt a Good Idea”, journalist Kayla Webley writes about the vast sums of money owed by students who have taken out loans to pay for their college education.  She explains how the student loan debts represent a modern form of usury in which students amass increasing debt due to high interest rates charged by various lending companies.  In addition to Webley’s article, we have also seen a video highlighting some real-life examples of students who have suffered from massive debt.  Considering the arguments presented by Webley, information provided in the video, outside sources, and personal experience, present a reasoned argument on why you feel student loan debt should or should not be forgiven.  If you feel that it should be forgiven, be sure to include specific solutions for the problem.
